This has been my go-to dip for a long time now. It's so simple to throw together that I make it every single time we are having taco night in our house. It's not Taco Tuesday without it! This avocado jalapeno dip is creamy, a little bit spicy from the jalapeno, and a little bit tangy from the lime. It's the perfect addition to tacos, nachos, loaded fries, or even perfect just eat by itself with a big bag of tortilla chips.
CREAMY, SPICY, TANGY, & DELICIOUS
The options for this avocado dip are endless. You can use it to spice up a salad, put it in a taco bowl, top grilled chicken with it, or fill up your burrito with its goodness. Whatever you decide to do with it, its sure to bring a smile to your face.
WHAT YOU NEED TO MAKE AVOCADO JALAPENO DIP
• Red Onion
• Sour Cream
• Spices: Salt, Cumin
• Lime Juice
HOW TO MAKE AVOCADO JALAPENO DIP
This recipe really couldn't be easier. Once you get the avocado peeled and roughly chopped, the red onion, jalapeno, and garlic clove are also roughly chopped. The pieces just need to be small enough to fit inside of a food processor or blender. I use my mini food processor, and it's the perfect size for this recipe.
For the cilantro, it's okay to have a few small stems since they will get completely blended in the processor. All the ingredients are put into the processor and blended until it is fully combined and smooth.
If you like a creamier dip, you can add in a couple more spoonfuls of sour cream. As always, the quantities of the spices can be adjusted to fit your taste.

AVOCADO JALAPENO DIP: FAQs
How long can you store dip leftovers? This dip is best served immediately after it is made, but any leftovers can be kept in the refrigerator for up to two days. I recommend covering the top of the dip bowl with plastic wrap with the plastic actually touching the avocado dip. This will help prevent air from reaching the avocado in the dip and help prevent it from turning brown. Interested in more avocado science? Removing the seeds from the jalapenos is a perfect way to reduce the heat of this dip without sacrificing great taste. What do I eat with avocado jalapeno dip? The better question would be 'what do you not eat with avocado jalapeno dip?' I like to eat this dip with fresh tortilla chips. I also put it on tacos, nachos, loaded fries, burritos, taco bowls, salads, and grilled chicken!

Avocado Jalapeno Dip
By Laura Bullock | Cooking like Julia
Prep Time: 5 minutes | Total Time: 5 minutes
Yield: 2-3 servings
• 1 avocado, peeled and roughly chopped • 1/4 red onion, roughly chopped • 1 jalapeno, roughly chopped • 1 garlic clove, roughly chopped • 1/2 cup cilantro leaves, loosely packed • 1/4 cup sour cream • 1/2 teaspoon Kosher salt • 1/4 teaspoon cumin • Juice from 1 lime, about 2 Tablespoons
1. In a food processor or blender, add all ingredients and blend until fully combined and smooth. 2. Serve immediately.
Creaminess: If you want a more creamy dip, add in a spoonful or two more of sour cream.
Spiciness: I like to keep the seeds in the jalapeno. If you don't want it to be as spicy, de-seed the jalapeno before throwing it into the processor.
Leftovers: Cover the top of any leftovers with plastic wrap actually touching the dip to keep the dip green. When the plastic is touching the dip, this prevents air from reaching the avocado and prevents it from turning brown. This dip can stay in the fridge for up to two days after making it.
